Burial took place on Saturday of Mrs Charity Ekem Affenyi, mother of Mrs Gifty Affenyi-Dadzie, a member of the Council of State, at the Ketan Cemetery near Sekondi.
The late Mrs Affenyi, 84, died at the 37 Military Hospital on March 22.
The Most Reverend Dr. Robert Aboagye-Mensah, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, presided over a burial service held at the Wesley Methodist Church, Sekondi.
Dignitaries at the funeral included Mr Ato Essuman and Mr. Paul Damoah, both members of the Council of State, Mrs Gladys Asmah, Minister of Fisheries and Member of Parliament for Takoradi, Miss Gloria Akuffo, Minister of Aviation, Miss Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Minister Harbours and Railways, Mr Kabral Blay-Amihere, Ghana's Ambassador in Cote d'Ivoire and Mr. Yaw Owusu Addo, the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.
