David Accam frustrated by Chicago Fire’s poor performance

Black Stars attacker David Accam is frustrated with his side's disappointing run in the runnning Major League Soccer season.

Chicago Fire’s head coach Frank Yallop has become the most high profile victim after he was sacked along with most of his coaching staff following a poor campaign.

The team lie 10th in the Eastern Conference with 27 points out of 29 games.

Accam and his teammates also set a record with the worst points per game in the MLS - 0.93 points per game in both the Eastern and Western Conference and the Black Stars attacker is unhappy.

“For me it is really difficult because I have never been in this position before. We keep making the same mistake every game. ...We play very well then if we don’t score we just concede in the last minute.”

“...We are a good team but we still don’t get the results. Everyone is down but the best thing is we have a game in two days so we need to keep ourselves up and go again.”

Fire lost their home game against Orlando City 1-0 at the Toyota Park and Brian Bliss has been brought in as interim manager while Nelson Rodriguez has been hired as the new General Manager.

Bliss is optimistic the club’s fortunes will turn with his introduction. He has been in a similar position before when he stepped in for eight games at the end of the 2013 season at Columbus Crew.

“Obviously [we are] looking to stabilize…[and] there's no magic wand at this point, but there's a formula to how I work and I believe it will breed some success."

In their first league season in 1998, the Fire won the MLS Cup as well as the US Open Cup.
