The Deputy Minister of Energy, Mr K.T. Hammond has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is capitalizing on the current energy crisis to score cheap political point.
Speaking to journalists on the energy situation in the country, Mr Hammond said the energy situation was not an issue the opposition should use to gain popularity.
He said: "Lies about the energy situation will not serve any good purpose".
Mr Hammond said the government would not be deterred by the lies and half-truths to throw dust into the eyes of the people.
He said the government has put in place measures to help address the current energy crisis.
He said the importation of generating plants from the US, Malaysia and Brazil formed part of the measures.
