The Women Supporters Union of Ghana, (WOSUGHA) has congratulated Ms Akua Sena Dansua on her appointment as the Minister for Youth and Sports designate.
A statement signed by Freda Prempeh, President of WOSUGHA, said the group is excited by the fact that she becomes the first female to head the Ministry.
The WOSUGHA President urged Ms Dansua to work hard to uplift the image of women in sports.
"For years, women have been relegated to the background, and we are banking our hopes on you to uplift and enhance the image of women sports in the country."
Ms Prempeh also expressed hope that the Minister would excel in her new appointment after serving as the Minister of Women and Children.
Ms Dansua is expected to replace Abdul Rashid Pelpuo as the new Minister of Youth and Sports.
