Olympics 2-1 AshantiGold

Accra Great Olympics were relegated once again from the First Capital Plus Premier League despite beating AshantiGold 2-1 on the final day of the league season.

The “Dade Boys” looked for the breakthrough as did AshGold but the first half ended goalless. The goals came in the second half and it was the defending champions who scored through Emmanuel Osei.

Olympics found inspiration and scored twice through Agbeshi Dortsi in the last 5 minutes of the match to win the match but it did not save them from relegation.

They ended the season with 40 points as did Heart of Lions who were beaten 4-2 by New Edubiase United. The two teams were relegated to Division One together with B.A. United.

Edubiase 4-2 Lions

Kpando Hearts of Lions failed to stay in Ghana’s top flight league after they lost 4-2 to New Edubiase on the final match day of the 2014/2015 season.

New Eduabiase had their destiny in their own hands and they made most of it by beating Heart of Lions convincingly at the Clay Sports Stadium.

Nuhu Fuseni's goals from each half, a brace from Bernard Ofori in the second half were enough to throw Heart Of Lions into the GN Division One league.

Eduabiase through Nuhu Fuseni gave Lions their early scare with a ferocious shot which was parried away by Mozart. Mozart became the busiest player on the pitch then on, and Eduabiase kept pushing to give Lions nothing to settle on.

Eduabiase were getting frustrated as their efforts were not yielding any positive results,  but on the 37th minute through Nuhu Fuseni who made no mistake after defensive blunder by Lions defence.

Heart of Lions regrouped and attack with all their might, but could not find the breakthrough required to save their season. Chances flew by as the game wore on. There was nothing Lions could do to get the needed equaliser before recess.

Lions flew out of the blocks in the second half to get the needed equalizer. Eduabiase sat back to soak the pressure and pounce on the break.  The game plan paid dividends as Lions were caught on the break. Bernard Ofori sent the spectators at the Obuasi stadium into ecstasy with a beauty to cage Lions.

Lions had other ideas as they wouldn't give up easily. But their day was undone by Samuel Yeboah who hit the 3rd nail on the Lions coffin.

Lions got a consolation through Mohammed Tanko.

The goal was a morale booster for Lions who poured many bodies forward, but Eduabiase quickly extended their three goal advantage when Bernard Ofori netted his second of the afternoon and Eduabiase's fourth.

The game would go on as goals continue to flow like showers of rain; Osman Muntaka grabbed Lions second of the afternoon, but it was not enough to save Lions season.

Kotoko 4-0 Aduana

Asante Kotoko whipped Aduana Stars by 4-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on match day 30 of the First Capital Plus Premier League.

The first half of the exchanges failed to produce a goal, but back from recess Asante Kotoko doubled up their effort and got 4 goals

It was an evening for the former Berekum Chelsea players as they scored three goals through Jackson Owusu’s brace and a goal from Obed Owusu.

Jackson Owusu broke the deadlock for Kotoko through open play, before he doubled his side’s lead from the spot kick. Obed Owusu had his turn by making it goal number 3, before Richard Oti put the icing on the cake to give the dethroned champions 4-0 victory.

This is the highest scoreline in Kotoko-Aduana Stars encounters.

WAFA 0-0 Hearts

WAFA were held to pulsating goalless draw game by Hearts of Oak on the final day of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League on Sunday at the Foviee Park in Sogakope.

The results means that, the Phobians move to the 4th position on the log sheet with 43 points while WAFA amassed 41 points to maintain their premiership status  by placing 11th.

No clear cut chances created by the two sides, WAFA was very strong in the middle of the field but they were kept at bay by high pressing Hearts of Oak duo of Sabbah Laryea and Emmanuel Hayford.

John Kila’s side during the course of the  game got frustrated due to strategy of Hearts of Oak, WAFA failed to get the ball pass Hearts defenders as the only solution for them was to hit the ball from distance.

The Phobains kept their composure in the game as the game was brought to an end as both sides failed to break the virginity of the game.
