Akosombo Textiles Limited, a leading manufacturer of garments and fabrics in the country, re-opened for business Monday after its operations came to a temporary halt last week.
The brief shutdown was caused by the shortage of black oil or residual fuel, a key raw input needed to facilitate the production of steam for production.
Management says although they have received fresh supplies of the black oil, it will not last long.
Administrative Manager, Kweku Asare Minako however tells Joy News all 1,600 staff were expected to return to work.
He said the printing and dying departments workers were at work last Friday and Saturday.
“The whole factory, 100 percent of workers, reported at work at 6:00 am,” he said.
The Administrative Manager hinted again that workers could be made to sit home if the company does not get adequate supplies of black oil.
