A publication by Italian tabloid Gazetta dello Sport has revealed that Black Stars midfielder Kwadwo Asammoah is the highest earning Ghanaian currently plying his trade in Italy earning 133,333 euros a month which pegs his annual earnings at 1.6m euros.
Italy is no strange place for Ghanaian players as the likes of DStephen Appiah,Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan have all featured for a number of clubs including Inter Milan and Juventus over the past few years.
However the last few years have seen a newer generation take over the mantle from the old guard and their salaries were also featured in the list. Udinese’s Emmanuel Agyemang Badu who is currently in his 6th season with the Italian top flight side currently rakes in 600,000 euros annually.
Inter Milan owned Alfred Duncan who recently moved on loan to Sassuolo also takes home 600,000 euros at the end of every year.
Bologna midfielder Godfred Donsah leapfrogged a number of players on the ladder following his recent move from Cagliari.He clocks in at 450,000 euros a year.
Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah is tied at 450,000 euros annually with Donsah after he also switched clubs this summer joining Torino from cash strapped Parma.
Sassuolo’s Rahman Chibsah who has joined Frosinone on loan completes the list with his annuall earnings pegged at 200,000 euros a year.
