Hearts of Oak striker Komi Foovi Aguidi has been recalled to the Togo national team for next month’s Afcon qualifiers.
The former Burkinabe League joint top scorer had been overlooked by national team handlers since joining the Phobians last summer but his rich form in the second round of the Ghana League has earned him a place in a 23-man list released by head coach Tom Saintfeit.
Aguidi will however have to fight for his place in the final 18 list that will travel to face Djibouti in Group A of the 2017 Nations Cup qualifying on September 5.
He has scored five goals in the First Capital Plus Premier League for Hearts of Oak in the current season.
The list also includes South Africa ABSA Premiership trio - Ouro-Akoriko Sadate (Amazulu FC), Wome Dove (Supersport United) and Kaizer Chiefs striker Abraw Camaldine.
