The Local Organizing Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola have agreed to provide maximum protection for the Ghanaian fans who will be at the Estadio 11 Novembro for Sunday's quarter-final match.
Ghana play Angola but their fans are cringing in fear they could be attacked if results do not go the way of the hosts.
The build-up to the game has been dominated by allegations of subtle intimidation by the Angolan security forces.
"We met with the officials and they agreed to provide maximum security for our fans from their residence to the hotel and back," Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi told Ghanasoccernet.com
"We have told our fans to behave and not to carry any inflammatory material to the stadium-just to be on a safer side."
Last Tuesday, a Ghanaian fan, Obour, was physically assaulted-he suffered damages to his rib and genital.
Also on Friday, a Ghanaian journalist was beaten up by security forces at the team's Hotel de Presidente base.
