The General Agricultural Workers Union (GAWU) of the Trades Union Congress has congratulated workers for their contribution to the growth of the economy.
“We wish to congratulate our gallant and hardworking men and women in the plantations, research institutes, poultry and livestock, irrigation authorities, and the self-employed, rural workers, casuals and contract workers for their dedication and commitment to building mother Ghana," Mr Samuel Kangah, GAWU General Secretary, said in a statement.
Mr Kangah assured workers of new labour relations methodology adopted by the GAWU to address labour issues, especially in line with the new Labour Act 2003, which was more suited for flexibilities in the labour market in a bid to attract more investors and encourage private sector development.
He assured the government that they would continue to contribute to nation building, stressing that the relevance and significance of the labour movement to development of the country was crucial.
