Ten prophetic dreams from Pastor Hayford Twum of Living Chapel International in Ofankor, Accra has led to a new biopic of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The book, Kufuor and Distinct Ghana, is "inspired by God," according its author, Pastor Twum. It charts Kufuor's rise to prominence in a unique way, through the medium of religious visions and dreams.
'I am a man of God and I do not write anything without instruction," explained the devoted author whose dreams inspired a new perspective on Kufuor's tenure. .
The climax of the Pastor's nocturnal viewings was a moment when he handed the named book to the former President. "I understand my dreams in a way others don't," relayed the pastor. Following his dream about the book, Twum felt compelled to write it. His prophecy came true earlier this month when he handed a specimen copy to the man himself.
The first of the series of dreams began with Twum as a taxi-driver. His passengers were the current President, John Atta Mills, sitting in the front next to the driver, and the former President, John Kufuor, sitting in the back. He asked if he could get a photo with the exalted men and they drove to his home to set up the shoot.
In the dream, the photos of Mills were blurry, whereas those of Kufuor were clear. This strange occurrence was followed by a journey to a school.
Mills is said to have felt reluctant following, but Kufuor was open to learning. In a sensational finale, God spoke to -the preacher, telling Pastor Twum to "teach them with John 8:32," which was written on the blackboard.
Faced with the power of God, President Mills ran from the room but Pastor Twum proceeded to teach Kufuor. "That is when my eyes opened," Pastor Twum told DAILY GUIDE.
Another dream involved a durbar chaired by the former President. Pastor Twum was the last attendee to arrive, and when he did, Kufuor told the crowd, "the one I have been waiting for has arrived." "I had numerous dreams about Kufuor about 10 times," said Pastor Twum, who felt himself gradually becoming spiritually closer to the former President each time another dream took place.
He initially faced resistance in his quest to write the book but a burning desire to complete his "God given command" overcame the blocks that Pastor Twum faced. With a chapter structure and a research-plan, Twum met with Kwame Boateng, Kufour's personal assistant. The pastor has stressed that the book is "not political."
In fact when questioned on the matter he seemed rather confused. "He is a human being; I have the definition (divine interpretation) of what he has done. He is a humble man." he prayed. The book, published by Media Fandern, is to be released next month.
