We're just three games away from the end of the First Capital Plus Premier League.
The last matchday's big news was that we saw 19-time champion Hearts of Oak leave the relegation zone following their 1-0 victory over Bechem.
We still do not have a league winner but matchday 28 could effectively decide who will emerge as the champion.

GREAT OLYMPICS v WAFA
After their 1-1 draw with second-placed Aduana Stars, Great Olympics escaped the relegation zone.
After the game, Olympics accused the referee of bias with team captain, Godwin Attram, going all out to say Aduana did not deserve their current position in the league if not for favours from the officiating team.
Olympics are still however not out of the woods just yet and in danger of slipping back to the drop zone. WAFA have been the surprise package this season and have been impressive lying fifth on the table. The side which is mostly made up of young boys from the club’s academy have shown that talent and effective management can indeed triumph.
Last week, they safely managed to reach the 40 point mark that is needed to ensure that the club would indeed be present when the next league season resumes.
Olympics are strong at home; a week ago, they came from a goal down to beat Chelsea 4-2 to completely curtail the latter’s chances at the league title and WAFA will have be wary of this as they make their way all the way from Sogakope to the shores of Accra.

MEDEAMA V HEARTS OF OAK
FA Cup finalist Medeama, will host Hearts of Oak in Tarkwa come Sunday.
Medeama lost to league leaders AshGold last Sunday and the club still remains among the long list of teams that are at risk of going down in mathematical terms.
Medeama, who remain ninth on the table need three more points and they could be safe from the threat of relegation. Their opponents, Hearts will also be looking forward to grabbing to those three points as well to ensuring that their bid to escape relegation for the first time will also be as alive as ever.
The Phobians currently lie 11th on the table and need six more points to ensure that they also reach that 40 point safe zone with three games to go.
According to projections by Kweku Arhin of the Joy Sports team, this game will most likely end in a draw but this would still not be bad for Hearts as they could still come of the woods in their next two games in which they are tipped to win.

ASANTE KOTOKO V B.A UNITED
Asante Kotoko need one point to reach the safety mark of 40 points and they are most likely to get even more than that when they host already relegated side B.A United at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Kotoko are almost guaranteed a place in the next domestic league season.
This game is anything but a battle as the boys just north of Kumasi are not expected to pose any real risk to the Porcupines.
BA United have an abysmal record of having lost all of their games away except one which they managed to secure a draw. The visitors have been accused in some quarters of “selling” their matches to the highest bidder. They are accused of easily allowing themselves to be over-run their opponents who still have chances of survival in the league because they (BA United) have very little to lose as they are already out of the competition.
This claim has however been vehemently denied by the public relations officer of the club, Awal Mohammed in an interview with Joy Sports team earlier in the week.

HEART OF LIONS V ADUANA STARS
The Kpando Park will be the venue for one of the league’s other crucial matches.
Host, Lions, will welcome an Aduana Stars side who are as determined as ever to keep the pressure on AshGold in the hope that the latter would crash and they can take over. Lions will also be in a desperate search for a win as after the last match day they returned once again to the relegation zone following the lone goal loss to Hasaacas in Sekondi.
Last year’s runner-up needs to win this game or else they will be in danger of being relegated from the league. Aduana Stars also need to win this game or else they would have handed the trophy easily to Obuasi. The team has come out to discredit claims from Great Olympics that they have been receiving favours from referees and that they do not deserve their current position in the league.
The last time the two sides met in January, it was Aduana who emerged victors and they desperately need a win too to increase their title winning chances and so do Lions need to win to ensure that they do not get relegated.

LIBERTY PROFESSIONALS v INTER ALLIES
The infamous Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman will be venue for the regional derby on Sunday.
Visiting teams have complained bitterly about the nature of the field and it would not a surprise if that is the same report card the game produces after 90 minutes.
Inter Allies play on a very good field at their home grounds in Tema just like WAFA who complained about the nature of the field a fortnight ago.
Liberty have slipped two places down despite that 1-0 victory over Wa All Stars away a week ago. They are among the long list of teams that need three points to reach that safety 40 point mark.
Inter Allies are however safe on third position after displacing Berekum Chelsea despite the goalless draw with Asante Kotoko. The last time the two sides met, it ended in goalless stalemate.

NEW EDUBIASE V HASAACAS
After a brilliant 1-0 victory over Heart of Lions last Sunday, Hasaacas need just one draw to ensure that they would be able to reach that 40 point mark needed to ensure survival in the league.
Host, Edubiase will be hoping to win this game in front of their home fans after they had been held to a 1-1 draw by bottom placed B.A United. After the game, the President of the club launched a sensational tribal rant at referees in the First Capital Plus Premier League.
The administrator has suggested that officials from the Volta and Greater Accra Regions are against his side. He said his club did not need referees from the mentioned regions to officiate his games after alleging that his side was the target of a plot to edge them out of the league.

BECHEM UNITED V WA ALL STARS
Wa All Stars disappointed their home fans last weekend after they were beaten 2-1 by visiting Liberty Professionals.
Liberty snatched the joy of seeing the home team secure their place in the next season. Bechem United dropped three places down to fifteenth after losing 1-0 to Hearts of Oak in Accra. They are now in real danger of not seeing themselves appear in next season’s league.
There is still some chance to escape as they are on the same points leverage as two other teams. The last time the two sides met in January, All Stars emerged victorious and All Stars will be hoping to replicate that come Sunday.
