RAMOS SET TO SIGN NEW DEAL AT MADRID?

The latest speculation on this saga suggests Madrid will stage a news conference on Monday to formally announce the deal. The Spain international joined Real Madrid from Sevilla in 2005 and has since become an iconic figure at the club. However, tensions between the player and the board earlier this summer threatened to end the longstanding relationship, with Ramos reportedly telling the club he intended to leave this summer with Manchester United the likely destination. But it now sounds like peace has broken out at the Bernabeu...

ARBELOA SET FOR REAL STAY

Alvaro Arbeloa is likely to stay at Real Madrid despite falling further down the pecking order at the Bernabeu. The 32-year-old, whose Madrid contract expires in June, has attracted interest from West Ham United and several unnamed MLS sides this summer. He is unlikely to figure prominently under Rafa Benitez this term – the arrival of Danilo from Porto means he will be the third-choice full-back on both sides of defence – but there are reports that he remains as committed as ever to Real Madrid and is not considering leaving before the end of his contract...

NO TURKISH DELIGHT FOR ZLATAN

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola has rubbished suggestions that he has held talks with Galatasaray regarding a shock move for his client...

UNITED AND ARSENAL KEEN ON DRAXLER?

Bundesliga club Schalke are willing to sell Julian Draxler to Arsenal or Manchester United, but only for an "astronomical offer". Juventus are also apparently interested in the winger, but it could take a huge sum to persuade Schakle to do business. " Our plan is not to sell Julian,” said general manager Horst Heldt. "That said, in this business it’s difficult to make definitive statements. If another club makes an astronomical offer for a player, for the good of the club you must always at least consider it. We want to keep him, but we can only definitively put the issue to bed on August 31. To say anything else would not be honest. Today I could say ‘he will not leave’, but then a few days later a huge offer for him is put on the table.”...

PEDRO DROPS MAN UNITED HINT

Pedro has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will join Manchester United from Barcelona. Pedro claimed United would be a “nice challenge” after scoring Barcelona’s winner in the UEFA Super Cup in what could be his farewell appearance for the Champions League holders. United are willing to pay Pedro’s £22million release clause and the Spain winger says he will leave the Nou Camp with his head held high if he goes. “Manchester?” he said. “Yes, there are nice challenges on all sides. “Today I’m here [at Barcelona], and I’m happy. And if I go, I will go with my head held high having always given everything. These fans and this club are incredible.”...

DZEKO JOINS ROMA ON LOAN

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has joined Roma on a season-long loan. The Bosnian has fallen down the pecking order at City and had been tipped to complete a £14m switch to the Serie A club. He has moved to the Italian club on a deal until the end of the season, with the view to a permanent transfer. “I came here to win titles with Roma. I hope we will win many trophies but first we have to work hard on the field and in the end, we can get where we want,” he said. “I can only promise you one thing: I will give my best to this team in every game.”...

...AND LOAN YOUNG STRIKER TO LA LIGA CLUB

Roma have loaned Paraguay striker Antonio Sanabria to Sporting Gijon. The 19-year-old will remain at the newly-promoted La Liga club until the end of the 2015-16 season. Sanabria, who came through the ranks at Barcelona before moving to Italy last year, made two Serie A appearances last term...

WENGER NOT KEEN TO LAND SEVILLA MIDFIELDER

Arsene Wenger won't move for the Poland player Grzegorz Krychowiak, according to a report in the London Evening Standard. Wenger has been linked with the £22m-rated player, but is not overly keen to add to his squad this month. Wenger is also willing to stick with defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin....

...AND FLAMINI WANTS PAYOFF TO LEAVE ARSENAL

Galatasary and Bastia have been linked with moves for Mathieu Flamini, but it sounds like he won't be going anywhere unless he is paid up the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium to cover loss of wages. The midfielder has not played a Premier League game since December, and has apparently been informed by the club that he is free to leave...

TOTTENHAM WILL SEEK £15M FOR DEMBELE

Tottenham won't accept less than £15m for Moussa Dembele with Sunderland, West Ham United and Chelsea all interested in the attacking midfielder. Spurs paid £15m to land the player from Fulham three years ago, and want the full amount back before they are ready to sell. At such a figure, it appears likely that Dembele will remain at White Hart Lane this season. Dembele has an uncertain future under Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.

BUT KEEN TO SECURE £18m DEAL FOR BERAHINO

Spurs are apparently interested in signing Saido Berahino from West Bromwich Albion for £18m. Spurs want the forward to team up with Harry Kane. West Brom will seek around £25m for the England international. Emmanuel Adebayor could yet join Aston Villa while Spanish striker Roberto Soldado is out of favour. Berahino scored 20 times last term, and has attracted interest from Liverpool and Arsenal...

ROMEU ON MOVE FROM CHELSEA TO SOUTHAMPTON

Oriol Romeu is having a medical at Southampton with a fee agreed between the clubs. Chelsea signed the midfielder from Barcelona back in 2011, but he has spent the past two seasons on loan at Valencia and Stuttgart. He also been unlucky with injury after knee ligament damage kept him out of action for eight months in curtailing his ambitions of turning out for Chelsea's first team...

HERNANDEZ STAYING?

There are reports that Javier Hernandez is set to stay at Manchester United. United won't let Hernandez move unless they sign Pedro from Barcelona because they are short of forward options, according to reports. Spurs, West Ham and Torino are all interested in signing the player...

FENERBACHE NOT INTERESTED IN JANUZAJ

Fenerbahce have denied they are trying to sign Adnan Januzaj. The Manchester United winger has been linked with the Turkish giants, along with Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghouli. But the club have confirmed they are NOT interested in either player. “Reports today in the Fotomac, Ukra and Takvim newspapers linking Fenerbahce with Januzaj and Feghouli are false. “We are not planning to sign either player.” Sunderland remain front-runners to sign Januzaj...

EVERTON SET TO SIGN BARNSLEY DEFENDER HOLGATE

Reports indicate that Everton are chasing 18-year-old Mason Holgate, who has been at Manchester United on trial during the close season. Bournemouth are also keen on the player, who made 22 appearances for Barnsley last season...

COLOCCINI: I COULD HAVE QUIT

Fabricio Coloccini has admitted he could have quit Newcastle this summer. The skipper was lured by a three year deal offered by Crystal Palace, but ended up signing a contract extension at St James’s Park. Coloccini will be 35 when his deal expires in 2017 and he wants the possibility of finishing his career on Tyneside. He said: “I had a few offers to leave the club but I said my first choice is to be here. “I felt proud because I want to be here, I feel part of this club and this city. “I expect to be fit and play every game. I would like to finish my career in Europe, maybe here. But maybe I will play a few years in Argentina if I feel ok.”...

NOLITO: I WILL ONLY QUIT CELTA FOR BARCA

Spanish star Nolito says he would only leave Celta Vigo for Barcelona. The 28-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs in recent times, including Porto, Valencia and Atletico Madrid although none have met his €18m release clause. With Pedro set to depart, Barca have been tipped to make a move and Nolito says he would only exit his current club for the Catalan giants. “I go there or I stay at Celta, it does not matter which other teams come in,” he said. “What is being said is all lies. I have not received an offer from Barcelona, ”‹”‹and as far as I know the club have not either. I’ve said it all along, Celta are in charge because I have a release clause of €18million. It is true that there have been offers from other clubs but I have made ”‹”‹the decision to stay here. “You can not say no to Barcelona, in the case that they pay the clause of €18 million. Barca are one of the best teams in the world.”...

LIVERPOOL OUTCAST BLASTS RODGERS

Jose Enrique has hit out at Brendan Rodgers for exiling him to the wilderness at Anfield. Enrique, 29, claims the Liverpool boss has “alienated” him and fellow outcasts Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli. The trio were excluded from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East and are training on their own at Melwood. “I’m in a difficult position,” said the Spanish defender, who made just six starts last season. “Balotelli, Borini and me have been alienated.” Despite being ostracised, Enrique insists he will not be driven out of Anfield and is cool on West Brom’s desire to sign him...

SOUTHAMPTON HOLD VAN DIJK TALKS

Southampton have held talks with Celtic over defender Virgil Van Dijk, according to BBC Scotland. Ronald Koeman has lost Toby Alderweireld from last season and has made no secret of his intention to bolster his backline. Steven Caulker has arrived from QPR on loan but Van Dijk remains on his wishlist. It is understood Southampton have NOT yet made a bid but are spoken to Celtic about the player’s availability. Boss Ronny Deila said earlier this summer that he was not for sale but may be persuaded by a hefty price tag...

RAFAEL HITS OUT AT LVG

Rafael da Silva has aimed a parting shot at Louis van Gaal, claiming the Manchester United boss disliked him. Van Gaal offloaded Rafael to Lyon earlier this month and the Brazilian defender says they had a poor relationship. The right-back said: “I know this history that he [van Gaal] doesn’t like Brazilians, but I can’t say, ‘oh, he doesn’t like Brazilians’. “I know that he didn’t like me, but if that’s because I’m Brazilian, I don’t know.” Rafael, 25, claims his United career nosedived after Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 and says his former boss has rung him to wish him well at Lyon. “That change was fatal for me,” he said. “I was going well, then Ferguson left. He even called to wish me good luck.”...

SWANSEA TIE UP VICKERS DEAL

This series is from the team at 99.7FM, tracking the latest moves in the window. We call it the #JoySports Transfer Daily. Here, we summarize all the moves and rumours in a quick, easy to read format. The series started in July 1 and ends on August 31.

When does the transfer window open?

The Premier League season wrapped up on May 24 and there has been a slew of confirmed transfers since - including James Milner and Danny Ings to Liverpool and Memphis Depay's move to Manchester United. But the window did not officially open until 12am on Wednesday 1 July 2015.

Is that the same across Europe?

No it is not. The transfer window dates for the major European leagues have yet to be finalised, but France, Germany, Spain and Italy's tends to open at the beginning of June rather than July. This means players from those leagues can agree moves into England, but transfers will not be ratified until July 1. The Dutch summer transfer window tends to open in the second week of June.
