Arsene Wenger has repeatedly denied any interest in Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema this summer, but that could all be about to change, despite the Arsenal coach's belief he doesn't need the forward to win the Premier League title.Reports indicate Wenger has been given the all-clear to launch a bid for the Real Madrid forward that would eclipse the £42.5 million club-record fee the Gunners paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.Although Real are reluctant to sell the France international, Wenger reportedly believes a big fee plus a huge wage to beat Ozil's current £150,00-a-week package will see Benzema arrive in North London before the window slams shut...

MANCHESTER CITY HOPE TO GET DE BRUYNE

Manchester City hope to sign winger Kevin De Bruyne for £46 million before Sunday's Premier League match against Chelsea, with reports claiming City have even booked in his medical despite having yet to agree terms with Wolfsburg.Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs told kicker: "The clubs have turned De Bruyne's head," while coach Dieter Hecking has said he cannot understand why De Bruyne wants to join Manchester City....

Manchester United’s move for Pedro may have been struck by further delays after Neymar was ruled out for at least two weeks with mumps. The Brazilian contracted parotitis after returning to pre-season training with Barcelona, and he will now miss both legs of the upcoming Super Cup against Athletic Club. Negotiations between Manchester United and the player are understood to be advanced, while the Catalan club are STILL waiting for the £23million (€30million) offer that has been agreed with Pedro as triggering his exit...

ARSENAL TO MISS OUT?

Not too many eyebrows would be raised if Arsene Wenger was to go in for a new defender or two after yesterday’s showing at the Emirates, but Arsenal look set to miss out on target Alessio Romagnoli, who is reportedly on the brink of joining AC Milan from Roma. The 20-year-old has plenty of admirers after starring for Italy Under-21s in this summer’s European Championship, but according to Sky Italia, is on the brink of completing a move to the San Siro, after his agent and Roma director Walter Sabatini met with Milan chief Adriano Galliani met this weekend. This would reunite Romagnoli with Sinisa Mihajlovic, who he played under whilst on loan at Sampdoria last season...

...BUT SET TO SECURE DEAL FOR LUCAS SILVA 

 Arsenal are looking into a deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva. Silva moved to Madrid from Cruzeiro in January for a fee believed to be in the region of £10 million. The Brazilian star spurned the advances of Arsenal to make the Bernabeu switch but is now said to be keen on a move to the Emirates after struggling for playing time in Madrid...

CHELSEA TO SEAL RAHMAN DEAL?

Reports in Germany suggest that Chelsea are on the brink of completing another signing. The Premier League champions have been linked with a move for Augsburg left-back Abdul Baba Rahman throughout the transfer window and German magazine Kicker are reporting that deal is almost there. They believe the 21-year-old is set to come to London later this week to undergo a medical and sign on the dotted line as the Blues look to replace Filipe Luis, who last month returned to Atletico Madrid following an underwhelming season at Stamford Bridge....

ATLETICO MADRID CHASE GUERREIRO

Atletico Madrid are weighing up making a €10m bid for Lorient full-back Raphael Guerreiro.The Spanish side, however, may face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for the 21-year-old Portugal international....

….AND TURN DOWN CHELSEA'S £46M KOKE BID 

Atletico Madrid have reportedly turned down Chelsea’s £46 million bid for Spain star Koke. Jose Mourinho was said to also be interested in Koke’s Atleti team-mate Arda Turan as he seeks to add further energy to his midfield. However, having already lost one key component of their midfield in the shape of Turan, the Madrid club are said to be highly unlikely to sanction any move for Koke.

NO DIGNE FOR LIVERPOOL?

Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Lucas Digne, who is set to sign for Roma.Digne is poised to join the Serie A giants on a season-long loan worth £1million  and can exercise the option to buy the full-back for £17.5million at any point. The Reds did initially look set to continue their summer transfer spending by bidding for the the PSG man, who is pushing for a move away...

BUT ARE IN FOR LAZIO STARLET

Liverpool are planning another swoop for Lazio sensation Keita Diao Balde, The 19-year-old forward is widely regarded as one of the hottest properties on the European scene and Liverpool tried to sign him last summer. Brendan Rodgers is still keen on his services and will launch another bid before the end of this transfer window. Lazio are believed to value Balde at €15million...

SHAQIRI HAVING STOKE MEDICAL

Xherdan Shaqiri is having a medical at Stoke City ahead of his move to Inter Milan, according to reports.Switzerland international Shaqiri was spotted in the crowd at the Britannia Stadium as Mark Hughes' side lost 1-0 to Liverpool in their league opener on Sunday.Shaqiri, 23, apparently rejected a transfer to Stoke last month after the clubs had agreed a £12m fee for the player - a sum that would be a new club record for the Premier League club...

VERMAELEN TO ROMA?

Either Roma weren’t paying attention last season or have some good hamstring specialists, as they want to bring in Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen. The Serie A side believe the injury hit Belgian is just the man to replace Milan-bound Alessio Romagnoli in their defence, initially on loan with the option to buy. Former Arsenal defender Vermaelen only made one appearance for the Catalan side last season, as a hamstring injury he picked up during the 2014 World Cup plagued his debut campaign at the Nou Camp. Despite his lack of productivity, Barca may be hesitant to let him go, as they are under a transfer ban which prevents them from registering new players until January...

West Brom have signed Salomon Rondon for a club-record fee in the region of £12million. “I am very happy to be here,” Rondon told the official club’s website. "This is a new opportunity in my career. I can’t wait to be with the other players and to play. "The club showed a lot of interest in me, that’s what is important for a player, what you take into account, and there are expectations of me."

When does the transfer window open?

The Premier League season wrapped up on May 24 and there has been a slew of confirmed transfers since - including James Milner and Danny Ings to Liverpool and Memphis Depay's move to Manchester United. But the window did not officially open until 12am on Wednesday 1 July 2015.

Is that the same across Europe?

No it is not. The transfer window dates for the major European leagues have yet to be finalised, but France, Germany, Spain and Italy's tends to open at the beginning of June rather than July. This means players from those leagues can agree moves into England, but transfers will not be ratified until July 1. The Dutch summer transfer window tends to open in the second week of June.
