Chelsea and Black Stars dynamo Michael Essien has returned to his Chelsea base after missing his Angolan flight late Sunday.
Protocol Officer of the Black Stars Alex Asante told Joy News’ Ridwan Asante who is in Angola that Essien is now expected to touch base in Angola on Wednesday.
The Chelsea star successfully went through a recovery regime after sustaining a hamstring injury and has since had flight difficulties joining his colleagues in Cabinda, Angola.
He will be flown in by British Airways flight on Wednesday, two days before the crucial Group B clash with Ivory Coast.
It is a must win match for the Ivorians who could only pick a point in their opening Group B match against Burkina Faso.
Meanwhile the Stars have no injury worries after reports say two injury doubts-Hans Adu Sarpei, and Anthony Annan trained fully with the team Sunday Night.
