The postponement of the Regional Millennium Marathon from August 3 to August 8 in Sekondi-Takoradi has, rather than lower interest, has rather gingered up participants.
That's according to organisers, who have said that the final of the nine road shows is expected to bring down the curtains on the regional event.
A spokesperson told the press that as expected, a record number of people have registered for this final roadshow, with the list dominated by runners who are making a last attempt to qualify for the September 5 race in Accra.
Apart from the special winners’ prizes, the race has slots for the first three winners in both the male and female events to join the over 1,500 marathoners who will converge in Accra for the national event.
