Staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the Brong Ahafo Region have locked out their regional director and have demanded his removal from office.
Victor Appiah was returning to office after few weeks on leave but the workers say they are better off without him.
Speaking to Eric Owusu Sai of Skyy FM, the secretary of the unionized workers, John Sam Arthur questioned the managerial acumen of the director.
The union had a week ago sent a petition to the National HQ of GBC accusing Victor Appiah of poor human relations, disrespect for staff and indigenes, and punitive transfers.
Mr Arthur said the workers are yet to receive a response.
On Thursday however, the workers were reported to have blocked major roads leading to the offices, chanting for the removal of their director who had just returned from leave.
“We don’t think that our current Regional Director who is on leave is the best person to manage the station. He's been here for two years and the way things are going we realize that if he stays on the station will grind to a halt,” Mr Arthur accused.
