The Director at the Department of Social Welfare, Stephen Adongo, is blaming the Pantang Hospital for not informing them on the condition of the late Georgina Akweley Pipson, whom they directed to the facility after they suspected she was not mentally stable.
Mr. Adongo told Asempa News that, the late Georgina Pipson who is believed to have poisoned all her five children to death before taking some of the poisonous substance, once visited his office to report her husband for abandoning her and their children, but in the course of their interaction, they suspected her mental instability and advised her to visit the Pantang Hospital which she did in August 2009.
He said they were not informed by the hospital when the woman’s condition stabilized to enable them continue investigations into her complaints.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Pantang Hospital, Margaret Paterson says they are not aware the late Georgina Pipson was brought in by the Social welfare as has been reported.
Madam Paterson confirmed to ASEMPA NEWS that the late Pipson was admitted at the hospital last year in August and was discharged in the month of October 2009.
She said she was brought to the hospital by a lady who claimed to be her sister who later came in for her in October last year, when she become mentally stable and was therefore discharged.
