A Toyota pick-up with registration number GN 8154Y belonging to the National Sports Council Wednesday run into a taxi KIA Pride with registration number GS 4128-09, skidded off the road and run into people returning from church service injuring 12 of them.
One of the injured was in critical conditionand was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Prince Tamakloe, an eye-witness told Myjoyonline.com that, the pick-up heading towards the Prisons barracks from Mplaza Hotel failed to stop at the junction thus running into the taxi and the people returning from church.
He said two police patrol cars came to the scene to convey the twelve injured people to the 37 Military Hospital with the elderly woman being referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
