Barca reportedly paid Fluminense €3m to secure a preference right on the teenager, but Roma jumped to the front of the queue after tabling a formal offer of €15m. However, the player’s father met Fluminense officials on Monday to tell them that he wants to reject Roma’s proposal as he has his heart set on moving to Barcelona instead.Fluminense and Barca are now expected to put the finishing touches on a €12m deal over the coming days...

Arsenal after Russian star?

Arsenal have shown an interest in signing 24-year-old Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev. The wide forward is one of Russia's great hopes ahead of their 2018 World Cup at home, and impressed last season on loan at Villarreal. He returned to Real Madrid this summer and, despite there being a clamour for him to stay at the Bernabeu, reports claim Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for him and that anything north of around £15m should be enough to convince them to sell. Liverpool were linked earlier in the summer, while Villarreal would like to have him back but would struggle to find the cash to fund that sort of fee...

.....and given boost for Romagnoli

Arsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli with the news that his prospective move to AC Milan has reportedly broken down. The highly-rated defender, 20, has failed to agree personal terms with the Giallorossi. Rafa Benitez insists Karim Benzema will be staying with Real Madrid. French striker Benzema has been linked with Arsenal in recent times, with reports over the weekend suggesting they had set aside around £45m for the player. Arsene Wenger denied he would be making a move for Benzema after Sunday's Community Shield and Benitez fully expects him to stay in the Spanish capital."Benzema will stay with us," he told reporters ahead of the Audi Cup tournament."I can't see any reason why he would leave. Juve got to be kidding?

Juventus' chase of Julian Draxler looked destined for failure, with the Serie A giants offering a paltry £15million.But despite a disgusted Schalke declaring that there would be no deal, the German midfielder's agent has suggested that there is still a chance of success:"The Schalke board have said the deal for the sale of Julian is off, but I think that if the Italian club came back with a more interesting offer then the scenario would change again," claimed Roger Wittmann."We'll see what happens. We are ready to sit down at a table and listen to the proposals...

Valbuena checking in?

Mathieu Valbuena could sign for Olympique Lyonnais.Reports certainly seem bowled over by the possibility of one of France's most entertaining little footballers (and I mean little) plying his trade in Ligue 1 once more. He was a Marseille boy, of course, but Marcelo Bielsa doesn't fancy the French international so it could be the Gerland instead, with Les Gones' top playmaker Clement Grenier ruled out for a while with injury...

Solda-go

Roberto Soldado "is our player" says Mauricio Pochettino, "and is in our plans." The Spanish striker has been nothing short of a disastrous signing for the White Hart Lane club since that big-money move from Valencia only a few years ago, but reports this week had him as close to returning to La Liga with Villarreal. But Pochettino has moved to dampen that speculation, with a deal obviously not yet done...

Gain an Abel?

Only yesterday Steve Bruce was reiterating his desire to keep hold of £10million striker Abel Hernandez. "We have had no offers for Abel," he said. "There's all this nonsense going around that we'd loan him out, but we don't have to do that," the Hull boss told reporters."He can conjure a goal out of nothing, and I want the transfer window to close with Abel still here ."This morning, though, the Italian press are fairly strong on his return to Serie A.Torino are favourites to bring the Uruguayan back to Italy, but it is likely to cost them...

This series is from the team at 99.7FM, tracking the latest moves in the window. We call it the #JoySports Transfer Daily. Here, we summarize all the moves and rumours in a quick, easy to read format. The series started in July 1 and ends on August 31.

When does the transfer window open?

The Premier League season wrapped up on May 24 and there has been a slew of confirmed transfers since - including James Milner and Danny Ings to Liverpool and Memphis Depay's move to Manchester United. But the window did not officially open until 12am on Wednesday 1 July 2015.

Is that the same across Europe?

No it is not. The transfer window dates for the major European leagues have yet to be finalised, but France, Germany, Spain and Italy's tends to open at the beginning of June rather than July. This means players from those leagues can agree moves into England, but transfers will not be ratified until July 1. The Dutch summer transfer window tends to open in the second week of June.
