Laryea Kingston's relationship with Hearts fans has taken a turn for the worse after he left the pitch at Tynecastle on Saturday to widespread boos.
The Ghanaian midfielder limped off with five minutes of their match against Dundee United remaining at a time Hearts had used all their substitutes.
The fans think Kingston chickened out when the club needed him most and one newspaper said they made their feelings known in their 'best industrial language'.
Kingston has had a difficult season at Hearts this term and has had to deal with accusations that he is more interested in his Ghana career than his Hearts one.
Hearts coach Laszlo Csaba simply told Kingston to let the boos inspire him afterwards as it did in the case of Michael Stewart.
“Mikey was also booed. His reaction was to show all that he is part of this family. He rose. He took responsibility at Celtic Park and a week later he was applauded,” Csaba said.
