The Ghana Tourist Board (GTB) is to hold a National Flower Festival in the Eastern Region.
The two-day festival to be organized in Koforidua and some other venues yet to be named would encourage people to converge at the venues to exchange flowers with their loved ones while others renewing their wedding vows and to spend quality time as lovers.
The Executive Director of GTB, Mr Julius Debrah, said this when he and some officials of the board interacted with players in the hospitality trade in Koforidua.
The officials include Mr Ben Ohene Ayeh, Public Relations Manager, GTB, Mr Edwin Owusu-Mensah, Executive Director in charge of operations, GTB and Nana Adjei Twinin, Board member, GTB.
They interacted with hoteliers, car rentals, drinking and chop bar operators among others to encourage them to strive for excellence to boost tourism in the area.
Mr Debrah expressed optimism that the programme would stimulate domestic tourism and that there would be several events at tourist sites in the region during the event.
He said the GTB was determined to take advantage of the proximity of Koforidua to Accra in promoting tourism in the area.
