The Northern Regional Co-ordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme, Adam Mohammed Amin, sacked his deputy from a meeting saying he does not recognize him.
Mr Amin walked out Abdul Mumin from a meeting of district managers of the programme, saying his appointment was neither in consultation with him, the regional co-ordinator nor the Northern Regional branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The two have not gone along well since Mumin’s appointment about a month ago as Amin has constantly indicated he does not recognize Mumin.
Joy FM’s Northern Regional Correspondent Mahama Shaibu reports that although Mumin holds an appointment letter duly signed by the National Co-ordinator of the NYEP, Mr Abuga Pele, Amin has denied him access to his office as the deputy co-ordinator.
When a frustrated Mumin reported the matter to Abuga Pele, he tried to reach Amin on the phone apparently to resolve the issue but his cell phone was switched off.
As an alternative arrangement, the former Chiana-Paga Member of Parliament offered to speak to Amin on Mumin’s phone but Amin will have none of that.
According to Mahama Shaibu, the National Co-ordinator of the NYEP confirmed the Northern Regional Co-ordinator belligerently refused to speak with him and indicated the matter will be reported to the Minister of Youth and Sports.
