A woman in Tamaulipas, Mexico, reportedly spent 12 hours in jail after refusing to do her husband's laundry, Fox News Latino reports.
Edgar Ivan Perez Alvarado, 26, says that he asked his wife, Dulce Requena Garcia, 21, to wash and iron his laundry, and she refused, saying that she thought he just needed clean clothes to wear so that he could go visit his mistress.
Spanish-language paper Puebla en Linea reports that Perez Alvarado was so angered by her accusations that he called the police and reported that Requena Garcia was "causing a disturbance."
He also complained that she spent all day watching TV and not doing anything around the house. Requena Garcia argued that she wasn't feeling well, which is why she was lying down so much.
Requena Garcia was charged a 400-peso fine (the equivalent of around $25) for the the disturbance charge, and when she couldn't pay it — Perez Alvarado refused to pay it as well — she was arrested and spent 12 hours in jail.
