Kevin-Prince Boateng says he wants to help Ghana win a fifth Nations Cup title after confirming his desire to play for the four-time champions.
The Portsmouth midfielder who has been in fine form at Fratton Park could secure himself a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2010 African Nations Cup to be hosted by Angola.
Boateng's decision is fueled by his ambition to play at next summer's World Cup finals with Ghana despite representing Germany at Under 21 level.
"At my age I want to be playing at the World Cup and it would be difficult for me to get into the Germany team. My dad is from Ghana so it is a big celebration for my family," he told The People.
"The African Cup of Nations is a massive tournament and we have a great chance of winning it so there was no question of me not going.
"I just have to make sure we have got more points before I go there."
