Police in Sunyani have granted bail to a Value Added Tax (VAT) manager being held for maltreating his daughter.
Nuhu Nkrumah Dauda was arrested last week for locking up the kindergarten one pupil for about six days.
Upon a tip-off, police broke into Mr. Dauda’s room to rescue the girl with bruises on her body.
National Coordinator of DOVVSU, Chief Superintendent Elizabeth Dassah, in an interview with Joy News said investigations have begun into reports that Mr. Dauda has frequently been maltreating the daughter.
“Whatever happens, whether one-off or not you don’t have to beat up your child and lock up your child. It is an alleged assault. We are yet to look at the circumstances,” Mr Daudu said.
“It will be investigated to the hilt.”
