The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has threatened to sue the Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive, Alfred Vanderpuije for destroying its research site at Amasamang.
The Council is also seeking a court order to stop any further destruction at the research site.
The Accra Metropolitan Authority has been clearing the area to pave way for the relocation of slum dwellers from Sodom and Gomorrah.
But a Senior Research Scientist at the CSIR, Dr Emmanuel Adu says the several years of research work cannot be allowed to be sacrificed for the comfort of the slum dwellers.
Dr Adu wants Dr Vanderpuije held responsible for the destruction of the area because he refused to heed to advise.
The AMA boss does not dispute the concerns of the researchers but says the government needs the land.
Play the attached audio and listen Drs Adu and Alfred Vanderpuije.
