AC Milan manager Leonardo is confident Dominic Adiyiah will do well at the club but admits the signing of the Ghanaian had not been his idea.
Adiyiah will join up with Milan in January after agreeing a switch from Norway and Leonardo had high hopes for him.
But the Brazillian says the move had been the idea of Milan vice president Adriano Galliani.
'I watched almost all of the U-20 competition because it is interesting to me, especially as I once played in it', he said.
'In all honesty the decision to sign Adiyiah came from Adriano Galliani and Ariedo Braida. It's impressive being the best player in the World Cup. I am happpy at his arrival and confident he'll do well.'
'He will be with us from January. Right now he will continue to play with his national team. He is young and a signing for the future.'
Adiyiah finished top scorer at the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt with eight goals and was also named best player at the competition.
He has earned his first senior call-up the back of that display and a move to one of the most famous clubs in the world.
