The former world champion was at his punishing best in the four rounds the bout lasted at the El Paso County Coliseum
Joseph Agbeko took care of business on his first return to the ring in 17 months, pounding Filipino opponent, Juanito Rubillar Saturday night in the El Paso County Coliseum, EL Paso, Texas, USA.
Agbeko, the former three-time world bantamweight champion, has lost some recent tough decisions — and his title.
He needed this win to get back into the title picture and he got just that with a fourth-round technical knockout over veteran Juanito Rubillar (49-23-7) of the Phillipines in their super bantamweight fiesta.
Agbeko (now 30-6, 26 knockouts) cut Rubillar over the left eye in the second round and continued to use good angles, good combinations to finish off his opponent.
The fight was stopped at 1:31 in the fourth round as the cut continued to get worse.
"It took me a few rounds to get warmed up," Agbeko said. "But this is my best comeback."
