Two people lost their lives on Friday morning, when a Hyundai Mini bus on which they were travelling from Kpeve in the South Dayi District to Hohoe veered off the road and somersaulted between Koloenu and Golokwati.
They were Winfred Asoku and Dora Adjale.
Prince Edzah, driver of the vehicle and five passengers including Auntie Meri who sustained various degrees on injury were rushed to the Hohoe Municipal Hospital.
The GNA observed that nurses were busily attending to the injured passengers.
Mr Daniel Ablordey, Hohoe District Police Commander, who confirmed the incident, said the cause of accident was yet to be ascertained but suspected over speeding by the driver.
He appealed to commercial drivers and the travelling public to exercise restraint on the road as the yuletide approached.
