Totteham striker and Togolese international Emmanuel Adebayor has partnered Black Stars captian Asamoah Gyan to host this year's Star Soccer Fiesta – an annual charity event climaxed with a fun game between professional players and Ghanaian entertainers.
The event which began on a small scale back in 2007 in Dansoman is making a return after a two-year absence.
This year’s event will span a two-day period from June 21 with the main event – the fun match – taking place at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The 2015 Star Soccer Fiesta was launched in Kumasi on Wednesday with organizers, Gold Star Consult revealing the several sub-events outlined including an exciting road show from Accra to Kumasi and donations to be made.
“The event all start on June 20 where the stars from Kumasi will be making a road trip to Kumasi in their various flashy cars,” CEO of Gold Star Consult Samuel Anim Addo said at the press conference to launch the event.
“The delegation will make stops at vantage points to interact with the fans, sign autographs and then have photo sessions before their arrival in Kumasi.
“In Kumasi, there will be a cleanup exercise in line with the theme of this year’s Star Soccer Fiesta which is to ‘Improve Good Sanitation for Better Health’.
“Then there will be donations made by the Asamoah Gyan Foundation and that of Emmanuel Adebayor before the fun match itself on June 21.”
Black Stars players like Andre Ayew, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Jonathan Mensah, Baba Abdul Rahman will be lining up for the professional players against the entertainers who will be featuring the likes of Samini, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, D-Black and Tinny.
Former Ghana international players and other international stars both on the football and entertainment front are expected to be part of this event.
