Tetteh wants to lead Olympic quest

Sellas Tetteh believes he has earned the right to coach the national Olympic team after he guided the national Under-20s to World Cup glory in Egypt. Tetteh oversaw a strong Ghana display as his players went on to become the first African team to win the World Cup in the 32-year old competition and says he is keen to lead Ghana to the Olympic Games again in London 2012. “That depends on the GFA but when you are talking about progression and a steady development of a team then we are on course and that will be the right thing to do,” he said of the Olympic job. “I am there to work, I have been assigned on different courses and at any given time I am there for any challenge.” Tetteh was also the man in charge in 2007 when the Black Starlets reached the semi final stage of that tournament in South Korea. He also had a stint with the Black Stars where he won five out of six games in the opening phase of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers before he was replaced by Milovan Rajevac. He is in no doubt that he has used the U-20 World Cup to prove himself as a capable coach. Whether in West African competitions, at the Africa Cup of Nations or at the World Cup we have proved that we can win but it is the consistency of my team that bares me out as a good coach. I have no doubt about that. Source: Kickoff.com
