The Black Satellites of Ghana thumped a stubborn Korean side by 3 goals to 2 to book the first semi final place in the ongoing U 20 tournament.
It was a cracking game in which the Koreans twice reduced a two goal deficit and pinned the Africans in their own half for most part of the game.
The Satellites were not flamboyant but effective as wonder kid Dominic Adiyiah put the Ghanaians ahead in the 8th minute with a touch of class from a Superb Samuel Inkoom cross.
The goal was totally against the run of play as the Koreans pounded the goal area of the Ghanaians but were bereft of ideas in the final third.
Ransford Osei should have increased the tally but his strong header in the six yard box once again from a Samuel Inkoom cross, whisked just wide.
The Ghanaian striker made up for his mistake in the 28th minute with another stunning left touch, this time from a David Addy immaculate cross on the left.
Two minutes later the Asian champions were back in contention, and capitalized on a blunder from goal keeper David Adjei to reduce the deficit. The Ghanaian goal keeper misjudged a cross on the right, moved out position as Park In Seong soared above Daniel Opare and headed home an important goal.
It was game on as the Asians looked more exciting with some sublime passes and great movement, but the Ghanaians dangerously held on to the slim lead.
In what appeared to be an unfamiliar tactic, the Satellites sat back, soaked the pressure and tried to catch the Koreans on the break.
The strategy appeared to be working to perfection as Emmanuel Badu goal bound header was cleared off the line in the 40th minute.
The Koreans came back more determined in the second half and just a minute into the half, David Adjei pulled off a superb save to deny the Koreans the much needed equalizer.
In the 65th minute, Kim Dong teasingly outwitted Jonathan Mensah and struck the ball with the outside of his foot but the ball just went a foot wide of goal.
Then in the 78th minute Dominic Adiyiah in a goal, fit only for the gods, meandered his way past four Korean defenders and placed the ball right beside a helpless Dongheoun in post for the Koreans.
That was his personal second of the game and his sixth of the tournament making him the leading goal scorer of the tournament.
With 12 minutes left to go, the two sides exhibited a stunning display of sublime football with ball swinging from one end of the post to the other.
Skipper Kim Dong again reduced the tally with a glancing header in the 82nd minute and kept the pressure mounting.
Ransford Osei was denied his fifth of the tournament when his well taken strike took a ricochet of the goal post much to the relief of the Koreans.
The Koreans pushed hard for the equalizer, but the Satellites defence marshaled by Jonathan Mensah and Addo neutralized the attack and hanged on to victory.
The Satellites await winner of the Italy/Hungary clash for a crucial semi final clash.
