An induction service was on Sunday, held for 39 military officers from six African countries, who had been admitted into the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
The Officers, with ranks of Major and above are from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Gambia and Rwanda and would undergo a year's course.
Addressing the officers, Reverend Dr. Major Bliss Devine Agbeko, advised them to take the course seriously.
"Don't be interested in the promotions that would come from the course, but also, how best you would use the knowledge gained to help improve upon the reputation and the works of the army in your various countries", he advised.
Rev Agbeko said a blessed officer is always the one who endeavours to offer selfless sacrifices and that they should not relent in seeking God's guidance in all their endeavours since "He" is the source of prosperity and goodwill.
Speaking under the theme 'Chose to bear fruits,' Major Umar Sanda Ahmed, an Imam of the College, reminded the Officers that "the sort of fruits that man bears depends largely on what has been put in them", so they should take their studies serious.
Mayor Ahmed appealed to the officers to educate their subordinates on the need to cultivate trusts between "the army and civilians and also not to take the law into their own hands and abuse the rights of others".
