Recent Afcon winner Max Gradel is the top scoring African in France after scoring in his last game but it is a Gabonese who leads the charts.
The Ivorian winger scored the game's only goal as Saint-Etienne beat visiting Montpellier 1-0 on Sunday. This is his 12th goal this season and second in as many matches.
Max is now the second best African scorer in Europe's top leagues behind Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang, who has 14 in the league for Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund.
Jordan Ayew of Ghana is third with 11 goals in Ligue 1 for Lorient.
It ended in a draw between Bordeaux and Metz, and it was decided by two Tunisians. The game on Saturday saw midfielder Ferjani Sassi get a first goal of the season for Metz but with seven minutes left, countryman Wahbi Khazri leveled with what is his ninth goal this season.
The improving Cameroon forward Clinton N'Jie scored his third goal in four games as Olympique Lyon won away 4-2. It's now six goals for him this season.
Guinean striker Francois Kamano still just a teenager, is doing well for Bastia for whom he scored twice.
The goals were key as they rallied from behind to beat Evian 2-1. The 18-year old now has four goals this season.
