The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation has been directed to apologize to its viewers for its inability to telecast President Mills’ address to the 64th UN General Assembly Thursday.
The Director General of the national broadcaster, Mr. William Ampem Darko has been asked to do the apology on behalf of management and staff of GBC for its failure to broadcast live to Ghanaians, the address by President Mills.
The Government issued the directive after an emergency meeting with GBC management and government officials early on Friday.
Meanwhile Asempa News has learnt that a committee has been set up to investigate the circumstances that led to GBC’s failure to telecast President Mills’ address to the UN General Assembly live.
The Ministry of Information Thursday issued a press release to register the government’s displeasure about the continuous failure by GBC to telecast events the station advertises to air live but later disappoints.
