Two hawkers plying their trade under the traffic lights near the National Theatre were on Thursday, hit by a fatal accident when a 207 Benz Bus with registration number GT 3283 D ran into them.
One of the victims selling bottled pineapple fruit juice was hit to the ground and dragged on his left side while the other victim received minor injuries on his arms.
They were rushed to the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
An eye-witness told the Ghana News Agency that the accident might have been caused by a brake failure.
He said from a distance of about 50 metres, the driver of the bus, struggled to apply his brakes but failed and could not control the speed and run into the hawkers in an attempt to avoid vehicles in a queue.
Most of the hawkers had to flee for their lives.
