Sedem Ofori is a producer of the award-wining Super Morning Show (SMS) on Joy 99.7 FM
Sedem is a devout Pan-Africanist. He turned 30 on 19th July this year.
A typical sanguine, he has a great sense of humor and loves to talk and debate on almost everything. After his first degree in KNUST, he developed a special interest in social Science, and is presently studying for his Executive Masters Degree in Public Administration at KNUST (Faculty of Distance Education).
Sedem's first experience with radio was in his freshman years at KNUST, Continental Radio (Campus FM). He begun by playing reggae music… a natural passion, and then started hosting an Africa-focused Current-Affairs talk show program called “CRY FREEDOM”. He was employed on part-time basis at MIGHTY FM in Asante-Mampong as a Morning Show host, and thereafter, as a full time Morning Show host and Traffics Manager of ASHH FM in Kumasi.
A tall list of jobs, half-jobs and outright screw-ups became the quotidian testament of his professional journey, compelling him to take up a job behind the dull desks of Barclays Bank in Accra. It didn’t take long for him to figure out that he was in the wrong job and resigned to join the TOP RADIO team as a regular Morning Show panelist, and eventually rising to the rank of the Morning Show Host.
Sedem joined the Joy FM team as a Producer of the Super Morning Show and THE FRONT PAGE. This job wasn’t an entirely new terrain for him as he had for 2 years before his appointment worked as a Producer and researcher of the Award Winning Current Affairs TV program, KWAKU ONE-ON-ONE (TV3). His work on the team together with Kofi Ansah has seen the Super Morning Show on Joy FM win the coveted “CIMG Radio Program of the Year Award of 2008, and the GJA Best Radio Program of 2008.
Sedem presents programs on TV as well, prominent among them being the Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa Competition.
Sedem enjoys sports, and has a yellow belt in Shotokhan. And he’s vegetarian.
He remains unclear on what exactly he wants to do with his life, except he knows that he wants to find real peace and happiness, in an imperfect world.
