Hearts of Oak coach Herbert Addo is couting on the fitness of his key players for Saturday’s Caf Confederation Cup clash with Olympique de Ngor.
The experienced trainer managed to do without a couple of his regular players in the 2-1 home win over the Senegalese side.
The Phobians, who left Accra just after 8am Friday morning, had to stage a comeback after going down in the first half through Foovi Aguidi and Gilbert Fiamenyo in the first leg.
The latter who has been Hearts’ top scorer this season had to start from the bench due to fitness issues and his second half introduction did some magic for the Ghanaians. He played a role in the build-up to the equalizer before rounding Ngor’s goalkeeper for the match winner.
“We know our situation and are prepared to have a good result that will make us qualify on Saturday,” Herbert Addo said.
“The good news is that some of my key players who have been missed through injuries in recent weeks are back with us for this trip. I’m hoping they stay fit for Saturday.”
“Before the first leg, we had little information about our opponents and after seeing them in Accra, I’m confident things will be easier for us,” he finished in the interview with Supersport.
Hearts left Ghana for Senegal on Thursday night with influential midfielder Leonard Tawiah back to full fitness while South African wing back, Shaun October, who had been ruled out with injury a few days ago surprisingly made the trip.
