Winneba police recorded two accidents during the Easter festivities that resulted in the death of two persons and injuries to eight, Deputy superintendent of Police Nicholas Gasu, the Winneba Police Commander, has said.
He said in the first accident that occurred on Easter Saturday, one person died at the Winneba Government Hospital following injuries she received when a private car she was travelling on crashed into a bus at Gyatekrom near Winneba.
Mr. Gasu said the injured, including the two drivers, Jonathan Bajar and Kwesi Atta and passengers on both vehicles, are responding to treatment at the Winneba Government Hospital.
In the second accident on Easter Monday, a hit-and-ran driver from Agona Swedru knocked down one Kwesi Donkor at Awombore near Winneba and he died on the way to the Winneba Government Hospital.
Mr Gasu said the driver abandoned the taxi at Ansaful and the police are looking for him.
