Former Information Minister Stephen Asamoah-Boateng has sued the director of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
Mr Asamoah-Boateng sued Yaw Donkor for contempt in an Accra High Court.
Lawyers for the former minister are also seeking a restraining order against the BNI preventing the bureau from restricting his travel movements.
The former minister was asked out of a British Airways flight en route to London last week.
Deputy Information Minister, James Agyenim Boating, announced subsequent to the incident that Mr Asamoah-Boateng could not leave the country without a BNI clearance.
Lawyers for Asamoah Boating have however described this as contempt of court as the matter is still before a Human Rights Court.
The case is due for hearing on the 18th of this month.
