The Deputy Health Minister, Dr Benjamin Kumbuor says the government is putting together an emergency response team to deal with the reported cases of Swine Flu in the country.
He said the Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies are meeting to finalise plans on measures to respond to the disease.
So far two cases of the disease have been reported – one in the Western Region and another in the Greater Accra Region.
Dr. Kumbuor said surveillance has been mounted around all the reported cases to limit the contacts between the infected persons and other people.
He said in the Western Region for instance, people believed to have come into contact with the infected person are being screened.
Although one of the infected persons just entered the country, the Deputy Minister said it is not clear if he came into the country with the disease or he got infected here.
The nationality of the person has yet to be established.
