The Board Chairman of Intercontinental Bank Ghana, Dr. Godfried Kportufe Agama, has been reported dead after a short illness.
He was a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, a position he held from 1988 to1997 and was reputed as the longest serving Governor.
Family sources and officials of Intercontinental Bank Ghana confirmed Dr. Agama’s sad passing to Myjoyonline and said an official statement would soon be issued.
Dr. Agama’s outstanding contribution to the financial services sector was recognized recently when he was honoured with the second most prestigious award of Ghana, the Companion of the Order of the Volta.
