The Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Emile Francis Short, will resume office next Monday.
Acting Commissioner of CHRAJ, Anna Bossman, said Mr Short's resumption of duty followed the passing of a resolution by the United Nations Security Council permitting him to return to his position as Commissioner.
In March 2004 Mr Emile Short was granted indefinite leave of absence by former President John Kufuor to take up an appointment as a judge with the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania.
The tribunal was established by the United Nations to prosecute persons responsible for genocide, crime against humanity and war crimes committed in Rwanda in 1994.
