Members and supporters of Tijania and Al-Sunna Muslim sects at Ejura in the Ashanti region clashed on Sunday night over religious differences.
But the swift and timely intervention of the Police averted a disastrous situation.
Police Chief Superintendent Augustine Gyeening, Divisional Police Commander of Asante-Mampong in the Sekyere West District, who disclosed this to newsmen, said six out of 10 people were injured in a gunshot.
He said they have been treated and discharged at the Ejura Hospital.
The Divisional Commander said no arrests had been made so far but that the police had received some names and were making investigations to unravel the perpetrators.
He said the incident occurred when the Tijanis allegedly attacked the Sunnis, who had mounted a platform and were preaching the Muslim faith.
