Presidential Palace flooded

It has emerged that the multi-billion Presidential Palace heralded by the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration as one of the legacies has serious engineering defects, aside of being a misplaced priority. The Enquirer sources at the Golden Jubilee House have hinted that the torrential rains brought out serious defects on the magnificent building, as rain water entered many of the offices. The Enquirer was told that the office meant for the President also suffered from the rainfall, as water entered some parts of the office. Apart from that, a building meant to serve as a duty post for security personnel at the plush presidential palace also got flooded. Attempts by the paper to assess the situation proved futile, as the security personnel refused to allow entry into the place. But the sources told The Enquirer that indeed some rooms were flooded and that engineers working on the project warned that nobody should enter the main premises of the building. According to the sources, the engineering company was swift in organizing people to clean the rooms that were affected by the downpour. "We have seen the engineers moving up and down this morning because of the rain," a security man told The Enquirer last Sunday morning. Insiders are of the view that because of pressure the NPP administration gave the contractors, finishing touches were not done well. According to them, the former government wanted to take credit for the project and therefore made the contractors to hand over the project to the government at the time. The Golden Jubilee House was build with funds from the Indian Government. $30million was given to Ghana as a grant, while another $30 million was given as a loan. However, the cost of the figure, as at the last count had hit over $120million but the immediate past administration failed to give accounts of what led to that figure. Source: Enquirer
