The Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church has organized a gospel rock show to raise funds to establish the Anglican Institute of Technology.
Speaking at the function, a member of the implementation committee of the AIT, Rev Fr. Robert O. Ankrah, said it was the desire of his committee to ensure that the institute takes off in the 2007/2008 academic year.
He said the institute would have campuses in Mansokran in the Ashanti region, Nkoranza, Ayamfori and Akwadum near Koforidua.
Rev. Fr. Ankrah said the institute had been given some buildings at Mansokran and they are being modelled into lecture halls, libraries and hostels.
He said the institute had been registered and was going through the accreditation process.
The Chairman of the Diocesan Fund Raising Committee, Venerable S. O. Mills Odoi, said it was the aim of the Koforidua Diocese to raise at least ¢100 million to support the establishment of the institute.
He said every Anglican Diocese in the country was expected to organize fund raising activities to support the project.
