Luis Suarez has been given the green light to take part in a charity match at Anfield later this month having been omitted from Uruguay's latest squad.
The former Liverpool fan favourite, who completed a £75m switch to Barcelona last summer, had agreed to make a return to Merseyside for the all-star event.
However, the game is scheduled to take place on March 29, which is one day after Uruguay take on Morocco in a friendly match in Agadir.
It has now been confirmed that Suarez, who is free to play in friendly matches for his country while serving a nine-game ban from competitive internationals, will not feature against Morocco.
Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard will captain the two all-star sides at Anfield, with Fernando Torres,Pepe Reina, Dirk Kuyt, Xabi Alonso, John Terry, Didier Drogba and Thierry Henry among the names confirmed to take part so far.
