The President’s nominee for the position of Kumasi mayor, Richard Ofori Agyemang, popularly known as King Zuba, has been overwhelmingly endorsed by members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
Out of 56 assembly members, 55 voted in favour of his nomination, confirming his appointment.
Mr Ofori Agyemang is the first MCE nominee to be nominated and confirmed in the Ashanti Region under the current administration.
He is widely regarded as an experienced politician, particularly in local governance, having previously served two terms as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi.
