Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has stressed the need for Ghana to qualify for the 2026 World Cup as they are determined to show what they are capable of.
The Black Stars took a healthy lead at the top of Group I of the qualifying series after beating Chad and Madagascar during the recent international break.
Ghana sit three points clear of second-placed Comoros with four games left to play.
Semenyo, in an interview with SuperSport, the attacker, who scored in the drubbing of Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium, talked about the importance of Ghana making the World Cup again.
"Hopefully, by September, [we can win] one game or qualify for the World Cup, and then in 2026, we can show the world what a team we are, and we can put ourselves on the map again, because that's how we deserve to be," he said.
"We have one of the best African teams. So I don't know why, like people are doubting that, but I feel like we just need to show the world what we can do. So the World Cup would be great."
Semenyo played at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he featured in two games as Ghana suffered a group stage exit.
